It is an event with a playful character where it is intended to be awareness between the little ones about caring and preserving the marine environment.
The end of the summer is near and Aqua Natura Benidorm wants to say goodbye with the third edition of the Miss Mermaid Contest, this year as a novelty incorporates the title of Mister Merman. The event will take place next Saturday, September 9th in the area of ​​sea lions and in the Mermaid house, it is for children between 6 and 14 years old. The event will have a playful and educational character to discover the marine environment.
The children who compete in the contest will become ‘guardians of the sea’ and will receive lessons through workshops focused on the animal conservation that lives in the oceans, such as sea lions. The workshops during the day will have the theme of the sea.
The program starts at 10.30 am with the arrival of the participants and presentation in the aquarium area. At 12 pm will start the educational activity with sea lions, called ‘Guardians of the sea ‘, to continue with seashells workshop, face painting and children’s games. Around 1 pm will start the mermaids and mermans Olympics that will consist in swimming tests.
In the afternoon, there will be a storytelling of the sea in the puppet area by Verónica Mermaid and the Aqua Fun gymkhana. There is also live music by DJ Juanjo Cerceda who will carry out his session from the lighthouse of Aqua Natura. From 4 pm we will give the diplomas to the participants and be named the new Miss Mermaid and Mister Merman Aqua Natura Benidorm, after this it´s Aqua Dance turn and the celebration will conclude with a foam party.
The company from Alicante, Kuaki Mermaid, collaborates with the contest Miss Mermaid giving professional mermaid tails to the winners. In addition, the animation company Bom Bom Party, will bring little mermaid Ariel as jury. All this coordinated by Sirenas Spain, responsible in the event organization.
