Celebrate Bat Appreciation Day with Us at Terra Natura Benidorm!

hace 4 hours

We’re marking Bat Appreciation Day with fun and educational workshops running until April 23rd. These activities are designed to help people understand why bats are so important for nature and how we can help protect them.

Our special event, “Learn About Bats,” takes place every day from 10:30 am to 11:15 am near the fruit bat area in the America area. During the workshop, visitors can:

See real biological materials up close

Discover fun facts about bats

Play educational games with our team

You’ll learn about where bats live, what they eat, how they look, and why they’re important to the environment. We also talk about common myths and explain how bats help keep nature in balance.

At Terra Natura Benidorm, we care for two types of bats:

Flying foxes from Southeast Asia (66 bats, including new babies!)

Fruit bats from Central and South America (about 100 bats)

So far this year, we’ve welcomed eight new flying foxes! Thanks to the care from our team, these baby bats are doing great and show how successful our conservation efforts are.

Why bats matter:

Bats help control pests like mosquitoes, pollinate flowers, and spread seeds that grow into forests. They’re key to keeping ecosystems healthy. But bat populations are in danger due to habitat loss, pesticides, climate change, and other threats.

That’s why we’re using this event to teach people how amazing and important bats are—and why we must protect them.

By joining us, you’re supporting education and wildlife conservation. Let’s work together to create a more nature-friendly future!
