The animals of Terra Natura Benidorm are getting ready for Christmas
hace 4 yearsThe animals of Terra Natura get ready to celebrate Christmas. Our team of zookeepers has designed special environmental enrichment activities for saimirí monkeys, Goeldi’s marmosets and tropical birds such as macaws. These animals will have to discover their Christmas gifts placed inside their facility.
Some of these gifts will have the shape of a Christmas sock, and inside they will keep the favourite food of each animal, which, for example, in the case of monkeys will be small worms, pipes and fruits. Other enrichments that visitors will be able to see will be the feeding of dholes, lions, ocelots, tigers and jaguars, as well as the bird of prey show and the educational demonstrations of sea lions. The target of these actions is to promote the degree of welfare of the animals, varying and energizing their routines.
In addition to these conservation activities, at Terra Natura Benidorm we have planned an entertainment programme for these holidays that will take place on weekends until January, 3rd. As soon as you enter the park, the toucan mascot, who will be disguised as Santa Claus, will welcome visitors during these days. In the same area of Pangea you can see the traditional nativity scene that has been installed this year.
Boys and girls who come to the park during Christmas time can leave their christmas letters in the Three Kings mailbox with their requests. The little ones who leave their letters will participate in a raffle of toys and tickets to visit the park.
The playful tour will continue in the fairy´s and elves School. There will be a potion and magic wand workshop to commemorate Christmas, as well as face painting activities or meeting fantasy characters.
