The University of Alicante and Terra Natura Benidorm sign an agreement to favour the development of informative and research activities

The rector of the AU, Amparo Navarro, and the general director of Terra Natura Benidorm, Luis Perea, attended the signing ceremony this morning.
The University of Alicante and Terra Natura Benidorm have signed this morning a collaboration agreement to promote the development of activities focused especially on dissemination, training and research in some scientific areas related to biodiversity, zoology, environmental conservation or the water treatment, among others.
The act took place in the rectorate of the University of Alicante. The meeting was attended by the rector of the University of Alicante, Amparo Navarro, and the general director of Terra Natura Benidorm, Luis Perea.

Different seminars and courses will be given by specialised teachers about subjects of interest to the UA and Terra Natura Benidorm. Also, the collaboration agreement includes students’ practices which attend the subject of Zoology.

Among the objectives of the collaboration is also to promote cooperation between both institutions in order to deepen training related to the activity of both entities. The term of this agreement will be three years, although it may be renewed for equal periods.

The general director of Terra Natura Benidorm, Luis Perea, has stressed the “importance of strengthening ties with the academic field to reinforce knowledge and research on issues related to biodiversity and its conservation, as well as promoting a first experience in the field of external academic internships. “it fills us with pride to be able to sign this agreement with the University of Alicante, keeping this way contact between both entities and promoting the training of university students”, Perea specified.
Amparo Navarro, the rector, has pointed out that “for a university like ours, having collaboration agreements that offer the possibility for students to carry out internships in the field is essential, but it is also important the commitment of our institution with society as it allows us to promote the transfer of knowledge and contribute to the development of our environment”.
