This weekend we welcome the members of the charity event Scooter Rider Costa Blanca
hace 2 monthsWe will welcome more than 140 members of the scooter and lambretta tour to support the visibility of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.
Terra Natura Benidorm will become one of the key stages of the fourth edition of the solidarity event Scooter Rider Costa Blanca, a free and non-competitive event that will bring together more than 140 lovers of classic scooters and lambrettas with a common goal: to give visibility to Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, a disabling disease without cure that severely affects the nervous system.
We will welcome the participants from 2:30 pm onwards, after their route through some of the most emblematic spots on the Costa Blanca. On arrival at Terra Natura Benidorm, the group will take their motorbikes to the Aqua Natura area, where an exclusive area has been set aside for parking without interfering with animal welfare. In this area there will be a show cooking of fideuà, followed by a free visit to the park’s facilities.
The event will start in Alcoy in the morning, they will travel through places such as the Batalla ravine, La Carrasqueta, Relleu, and Benidorm before concluding its journey at Terra Natura. The park has supported this initiative since its inception as a sign of commitment to social causes and the desire to serve as a loudspeaker to raise awareness of less visible diseases such as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.
The Scooter Rider Costa Blanca is not a fundraising event, and its main aim is to raise social awareness. This year’s edition will be attended by enthusiasts from different autonomous communities and countries, such as France, Italy, Argentina, and Poland. The event has been promoted by groups such as Vespa Club España, the Samarita Cultural Association of Alcoy, Manos Unidas Albacete, Movilización Persistente and NGO PEM, and has the collaboration of the town councils of Alcoy and Benidorm, as well as institutions such as Fundación Mutua Levante and Terra Natura Benidorm.
After their stop at our park, the group will return to Alcoy, where the day will end in the Plaza de España. With this event, Terra Natura Benidorm reaffirms its commitment to social responsibility and solidarity, opening its doors to an action that combines passion for two wheels, dissemination, and support for people affected by invisible diseases.
About Myalgic Encephalomyelitis
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, is a severe and disabling neurological disease that affects the central nervous system and multiple organs of the body. Symptoms include extreme fatigue, muscle pain, cognitive impairment, intolerance to physical exertion, and high sensitivity to stimuli such as light or sound. In the most severe cases, it can completely limit the mobility and autonomy of the sufferer. There is currently no treatment or cure, and many people remain undiagnosed. Raising awareness is essential to promote research and social and medical recognition of the disease.
