Together with Renfe, we are consolidating our position as partners in the promotion of sustainable transport and leisure
hace 2 yearsTerra Natura Benidorm and Renfe have consolidated as travelling companions in the promotion of sustainable leisure with the signing of a new collaboration agreement. The agreement was signed during the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), which is being held until 22nd January at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid.
This is the fifth consecutive agreement signed by both entities. Thanks to this agreement, Renfe will be the official transport of Terra Natura Benidorm, as a sustainable tourist destination and leisure among the users of the railway company.
Specifically, the agreement has been signed by the Director of the Business Area of Renfe, Javier Pérez López, and the Commercial Director of Terra Natura Benidorm, Javier Zapata. The collaboration document includes the broadcasting of a video on its Ave and long-distance trains to publicise the work of Terra Natura Benidorm and its commitment to biodiversity conservation, among other subjects.
In the same way, awareness-raising content on conservation will be published on various media, such as headrests on Ave and long-distance trains, train tickets, the Renfe website link, ticket vending machines, as well as on the Renfe employees’ own intranet.
The signing of this agreement seeks to promote the use of rail transport and more sustainable tourism. In this sense, Renfe has the AENOR quality and environmental certification, a distinctive that guarantees that the service is committed to the environment, thus being a pioneer company in obtaining this certification that is committed to sustainable transport.
In addition, a special discount will be included for Renfe passengers in the price of tickets to visit Terra Natura Benidorm and Aqua Natura Benidorm throughout the year.
Terra Natura Benidorm is a member of AIZA and EAZA and collaborates in numerous conservation and scientific research projects. We also participate in dozens of European breeding programmes for endangered species such as the Indian rhinoceros, Asian elephant, Asiatic lion, siamang or jaguar, among others. Among the main conservationist milestones, we are the only zoo in Spain that has succeeded in breeding the Indian rhinoceros on two occasions.
