At Terra Natura Benidorm we have made a special workshop for visitors to celebrate the World Earth Day, which is commemorated every April 22nd. The campaign will carry the slogan ‘We only have one Earth. Together, we can protect it.” The activity took place from 12:30pm to 2:00 pm in the Asian area.

Through this initiative, the aim is to make children aware of the main problems that threaten the conservation of the biodiversity of planet Earth and its environment. To do this, park educators have promoted and transferred awareness values through this playful workshop, which have been aimed at promoting care for the environment, recycling and reuse of materials and respect for nature.

Educators have based the activity on a playful and entertaining perspective so that children and their families learn concepts through fun. Within the action, an insect hotel has been created, showing the role played by these animals as factors in the conservation of the natural environment. Likewise, feeders have been made for wild birds made with recycled materials and drawings with theme of nature have been prepared so that younger children can participate.

The talks offered during the zooexperience have tried to make families aware of how to enjoy natural spaces in a responsible way without altering the ecosystem. Specifically, advice has been given on how to take care of the field when going off route and how to react when an animal is found. Also, the need to pick up the waste and keep natural spaces clean, remembering that plastic bags take up to 200 years to degrade.

In addition, gardening workshop has been launched at the Fairy School, where children have been able to learn how to plant seeds to see them grow.
