We celebrate World Wildlife Day with an educational day in La Nucia
hace 4 weeksTerra Natura Benidorm celebrated World Wildlife Day with a special activity at El Bressol nursery school in La Nucía, where the little ones were able to discover the characteristics of different wild animals and their importance in nature in a sensory and close way.
The biologist and educator, Alba Bárcena and Esther Sánchez, led this day in which they showed a wide variety of biological material, from white-backed vulture feathers, blue and yellow macaws, emus and flamingos, to chital antlers and hair, porcupine quills and a royal cobra skin. Through illustrations, the children have been able to relate these elements to the animals they belong to, favouring learning in a visual and tactile way.
One of the highlights was the exploration of reproductions of the skulls of different species, such as that of a lioness, a capuchin monkey, a fruit bat and herbivores such as the cervicapra and the chital. In this way, the children have learned to differentiate the types of teeth according to the diet of each animal, understanding the differences between carnivores and herbivores. In addition, by observing pressed plants, the trophic chain and the natural balance between species was explained.
Thanks to this experience, the children have been able to discover biodiversity through their senses, exploring textures, shapes and colours that have allowed them to approach the animal world in a playful and educational way. With initiatives like this, Terra Natura Benidorm reaffirms our commitment to environmental education and awareness, awakening in new generations an interest in the conservation of wildlife and nature.
