We commemorate the Valencian Community Day with traditional activities

A medieval tournament, popular dances and workshops will take place on October, 9th.

Terra Natura Benidorm will commemorate the Valencian Community Day in a special way. On this occasion, different traditional activities such as folk dances and workshops will be organized, as well as a medieval tournament. Through the celebration of the 9th of October, the aim will be to bring the culture and folklore of the Valencian Community to visitors who come to the park.

The programme designed for this day will rescue historical figures such as King Jaume I and Na Violant d’Hongria. For this occasion, the Napoleonic Valencian Association will be responsible for starring in an animation where public can go characterized with costumes of the time and participate in a contest, where the best costumes will receive a Bluetooth headphone from Energy Sistem.

The traditional dance group El Centener de Villajoyosa will perform different popular songs to liven up the day, which will also be accompanied by a group of big heads and cardboard horses. Among the activities, there will be a medieval tournament and we will recreate typical medieval scenes such as the designation of knights.

The recreational activities will continue with a large balloon explosion at 2.30 pm in the European area. After the balloons explosion, we will give way to the craft workshops such as the elaboration of traditional veneers or the children’s archery workshop, where a fantastic character, Princess Mérida, will accompany the smallest through the experience and you can take a picture with her.

There will also be a special make-up session. The programme will conclude with medieval warrior’s entertainment. In parallel, the public will be able to enjoy other animations such as the birds of prey show, talks about the animals, among other initiatives dedicated to spreading knowledge of biodiversity through actions that combine leisure and dissemination.
