The Terra Natura Benidorm zookeepers continues to carry out the usual tasks related to the daily care of animals to guarantee their well-being following a strict safety protocol with preventive measures to minimise the risk of coronavirus. The park remains closed to the public following the guidelines established by the Government of Spain.

The keepers are making inspection tasks of the facilities, they prepare the meadows for the animals, clean the inside enclosure, provide the diets for each species, maintain the environmental enrichment programmes and the veterinary assistance. Among the measures adopted, work teams have been created, headed by a veterinarian, who do not have contact with each other to avoid possible infections and ensure the care of animals.

The employees of Terra Natura Benidorm who must necessarily go to the park are following the preventive recommendations of the Ministry of Health using specific protective equipment.

To access the park, temperature is taken to employees and suppliers. If any employee has fever, they would be sent home in compliance with the health protocol established by the same Ministry. Likewise, workers are required to keep a minimum safety distance in common areas and the application of personal hygiene measures.

The reception of orders has also been restricted, authorising only the request of products that are necessary for the safety of workers and to attend the animals, like food and veterinary products. In addition, we have reinforced the cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting of common areas.

The rest of the employees who can carry out their work from home are doing it remotely. For workers who must move, credentials have been enabled in compliance with RD463 / 2020 of the State of Alarm. In general, an attempt has been made to promote family conciliation among the employees who must go to the park by favouring work shifts that are adapted to their needs.
