Terra Natura Benidorm has passed with the highest score the audit that TUI Group carries out to evaluate the environmental conditions of the zoos that it recommends as a tourist destination to its clients. The animal welfare standards and veterinary care parameters have given the Benidorm park this excellent rating.

Specifically, this audit has assessed more than 35 indicators related to the legal requirements for animal welfare in accordance with the guidelines established by the EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria), veterinary care carried out in the nature park and quarantine areas.

On the other hand, the different experiences carried out in Terra Natura Benidorm to bring the knowledge of biodiversity closer to the visiting public have also been evaluated, in which the state of animal welfare prevails.

Zoos must pass this audit again every five or six years in order to be recommended by TUI Group to its customers for a visit. TUI Group is the leading tour operator in the tourism market, which is currently considered to be the largest group in the tourism sector worldwide.

The general manager of Terra Natura Benidorm, Luis Perea, has highlighted “the effort of all of us who are part of this park, dedicated to animal conservation, so that customers know the richness of our nature from the respect for biodiversity and the care and protection of animals”. “Having the highest score in this audit is an important boost for us as a sustainable tourist destination,” Perea added.
