hace 7 years

Raise awareness about the conservation problems that primates suffer in our planet and know how we can act to favour the protection of these species. To do this, we have joined the celebration of the ‘World Monkey Day’, which is commemorated today, with the organization of a programme of thematic activities that will take place from December 16th to 17th .
The activities of entertainment will include a thematic workshop about primates that will take place in the playground area from 3 pm to 4:45 pm. There will also be another monkey painting workshop and a themed gymkhana will be launched where the attending public can enjoy during their visit to the zoo.
Our zookeepers will give primate awareness talks at the zoo experience. In parallel, a drawing competition will be carry out about the siamang family, who live in the zoo. The children who participate (ages from 4-12) must accompany the drawing with a short story of their artistic creation. The drawings will be delivered to the play centre during the weekend from 3 pm to 4:45 pm.
The prize for the winner of the best drawing will be a visit for four people to the facilities of the siamang monkeys where they will see the family of siamang with a unique perspective. The name of the winner will be published at Terra Natura social networks. The first 200 participants in this competition will receive as a gift a monkey keychain from Playmobil.
Terra Natura Benidorm has 37 primates from 9 different species, some of them are considered in serious danger of extinction. Visitors can meet species such as lion head, pygmy, white brush, golden hands, as well as the white-handed gibbon, the capuchin monkey, the siamang, the squirrel monkey, the lazy lory, among others.
