Middle Ages activities and the conservation of felines will host the 9th October festive
hace 4 añosActivities inspired in medieval times and the development of an environmental enrichment programme focused on carnivorous animals will star the entertainment that Terra Natura Benidorm has designed to enjoy next weekend on October 9th. Enrichment activities improve the welfare of these animals while raising awareness among visitors about the conservation problems faced by felines and carnivores in general due to the loss of biodiversity today.
To celebrate the 9thof October we have prepared some workshops, storytelling, archery and a children’s medieval tournament where they can become little knights on cardboard horses. There will be two tournament sessions, the first one will start at 12 p.m. and the second one will take place at 4 p.m. at the fairy’s school. The medieval cup workshop, archery and a pomp parade for the little ones will be held with the presence of Princess Brave.
There will also be Middle Ages badge workshop or the medieval tattoo workshop. Likewise, there will be a storyteller in the Asian area. On the other hand, this day the enrichment activities will start with the carnivorous animals (felines and canids) of Terra Natura Benidorm that will take place throughout the festive days until October 12th.
Thus, visitors will also be able to see the ocelots managing to extract the food hidden in natural piñatas, the olfactory search of the jaguars to detect where the traces of spices that the keepers have previously hidden around their facility, or see how tigers stalk supposedly prey made of cardboard, stuffed with meat in their grasslands.
The team of specialists will use innocuous recycled materials and natural elements to make cardboard animals imitating peccaries, Japanese cranes or flamingos as if they were their natural prey.
The fun will continue with a series of workshops like face- painting, and we will make headbands and costumes to recreate carnivores, panthers and tigers, among other species. In all the activities carried out at Terra Natura, the safety and health protocols will be strictly followed.
