We commemorate Valencian Community Day with music, dance, and traditional activities.
hace 1 monthTerra Natura Benidorm is honouring Valencian Community Day by hosting a family-friendly event full of activities rooted in Valencian customs and culture. This day, which will be held on Wednesday, October 9th, will feature everything from traditional Valencian folklore dances and music to dramatic mediaeval re-enactments. As a result, the park will provide an unforgettable experience while honouring the region’s culture and heritage.
Terra Natura Benidorm has organised a performance by the Grup de Danses Centener de la Vila Joiosa to commemorate this day, which will feature a display of traditional Valencian dance and music, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Valencian folklore and history.
However, this is not the only activity planned for the day’s celebration. The day will begin with a reception for visitors by King Jaime I’s symbolic knights at 10:30 a.m. After a flight display in which visitors can admire the park’s birds of prey, the Asia amphitheatre will host a re-enactment of a mediaeval battle between knights dressed in historical costume at 12:00 pm.
Afterwards, from 12:30 and 17:00, guests can visit the camp of King James I’s knights, which will be reconstructed by the Valencian Napoleonic Association in the park’s multi-adventure area. The archery workshop allows children who visit Terra Natura Benidorm to put themselves in the shoes of heroic mediaeval warriors and practise their aim with weapons from the time. They will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the historical experience by participating in a traditional knighting ceremony.
On this day for all ages, the smallest guests will be able to participate in the School of Fairies and Elves, where a special castle workshop will be held, with Princess Rapunzel guiding the children through the various children’s activities.
The children will also enjoy Jocs de Fusta Tocamadera’s collection of large-scale traditional games made from scrap wood. In this way, Terra Natura Benidorm provides a fun, ecological, and sustainable option for the entire family to enjoy.
In addition to the cultural and recreational activities planned for this 9th October, Day of the Valencian Community, we will be offering our usual educational talks and information stands about the park’s fauna, which includes over 1,500 animals of 200 different species, allowing visitors to learn more about the species that inhabit it and the more than 30 conservation initiatives in which we participate on this bank holiday.
