The programme combines nature-based learning with water activities tailored to different age groups.

At Terra Natura and Aqua Natura Benidorm, we have opened enrolment for our 2026 Summer School, a programme aimed at children that will run from 22 June to 4 September, Monday to Friday. This initiative offers families a valuable option during the school holidays, going beyond childcare to provide a model that brings together leisure, learning and personal development in an outdoor setting immersed in nature.

One of the features of this programme is its unique environment. The combination of a nature park—where children can learn in an engaging way about elephants, tigers, lions, rhinoceroses, macaws, jaguars and many other species—and a lively water park allows children to interact with biodiversity while gaining insight into the workings of a modern zoo committed to conservation. The programme includes experiences such as access to indoor areas for iconic species, environmental enrichment workshops, and opportunities to learn about the work carried out in the veterinary clinic.

The aquatic element further enhances the experience, with access to Aqua Natura Benidorm’s facilities, including pools, slides and activities designed for both enjoyment and learning in a water environment. These include experiences such as encounters with sea lions and activities where children can try swimming techniques using a monofin.

The team is made up of education professionals, specialists in recreational learning and experts in animal care, ensuring that each participant receives attention tailored to their needs. In addition, ongoing communication with families enables close monitoring throughout the entire programme.

The Summer School has become a well-established educational tool focused on fostering social skills, independence and creativity. To this end, the programme incorporates play-based learning methodologies, where children’s active participation becomes the driving force behind their learning. Through age-appropriate activities, values such as cooperation, respect and empathy are encouraged.

“The continuous renewal of activities and the experiential nature of the programme mean that many participants return year after year, allowing us to consolidate an educational model based on direct experience,” explain the school’s coordinators. “To achieve this, the programme offers a wide variety of activities that children can enjoy without becoming bored, all within a natural environment that nurtures their interest in and respect for nature,” they add.
