A day of medieval activities and traditions to celebrate the Valencian Community Day

Tomorrow, 9 October, Terra Natura Benidorm will celebrate the Day of the Valencian Community with a full programme of cultural and leisure activities, giving visitors the opportunity to discover the history and traditions of Valencia. The park will recreate the atmosphere of the medieval period with a camp inspired by King Jaume I, traditional music and dancing, parades and a range of interactive activities for the whole family.

One of the highlights of the programme will be the recreation of King Jaume I’s camp, presented by the Asociación Napoleónica Valenciana. Visitors will be able to discover different aspects of life and customs during the medieval period. The historical setting will be brought to life with a medieval parade and the traditional knighting ceremony, an interactive activity in which visitors can take part and experience, in a fun and engaging way, one of the ceremonies associated with medieval times.

Music and dance will also play an important role throughout the day. The Grup de Danses Centener will perform a selection of traditional Valencian dances, offering visitors the chance to discover and enjoy an important part of the Valencian Community’s cultural heritage and helping to keep these popular traditions alive.

Younger visitors will also have plenty to enjoy, with a range of activities designed to encourage participation and spark their imagination. These include a fairies and elves school, children’s workshops and a special visit from Rapunzel. In addition, the traditional wooden games provided by Jocs de Fusta Tocamadera will give children and adults alike the chance to discover and enjoy forms of entertainment from bygone times.

The programme will also feature archery activities, allowing participants to experience one of the practices traditionally associated with the medieval world. These activities will form part of the historical setting created for the celebration, giving families the opportunity to take an active role in the different experiences on offer.

Through this year’s 9 d’Octubre celebration, Terra Natura Benidorm aims to combine the discovery of Valencian history and traditions with a fun day out surrounded by nature. Visitors will be able to enjoy the cultural activities while exploring the different areas of Terra Natura Benidorm and discovering the animal species cared for at the park.

In this way, Terra Natura Benidorm joins the celebrations marking the Day of the Valencian Community with a programme that brings the region’s cultural heritage closer to visitors of all ages, encouraging them to discover it through engaging and interactive experiences.
