New bat shelters strengthen biodiversity conservation at Finca Buixcarró

hace 4 months

Great news for biodiversity!

We’re delighted to share that the 10 bat nest boxes donated by Terra Natura Benidorm to the Victoria Laporta Carbonell Foundation have now been installed at Finca Buixcarró, located in the heart of the Sierra de Mariola Natural Park, thanks to the collaboration agreement signed between both organisations.

These bat boxes, crafted in our environmental education workshops under the guidance of Elisa Gozalbes, Head of Conservation at Terra Natura Benidorm, will help enhance the habitat of these invaluable natural pest controllers. The Foundation will oversee their installation and ongoing monitoring as part of its wildlife tracking programme.

This initiative is part of a broader agreement promoting joint activities in conservation, scientific research, and environmental education. In addition, Terra Natura Benidorm will collaborate in the promotion of training courses and educational activities organised by the Foundation at Buixcarró, aimed at both the general public and future environmental professionals.

Through this partnership, we reaffirm our commitment to conservation beyond our own facilities, supporting initiatives that actively protect the natural habitats of the Valencian Community.
