We join AcoSOS association to fight against bullying in the province

hace 12 months

Terra Natura Benidorm and the non-profit organisation AcoSOS have joined forces against bullying in the province of Alicante. It is estimated that 3 out of 10 students in 39 industrialised countries admit that have bullied their classmates. In order to combat this sad statistic, Terra Natura Benidorm will be carrying out a campaign to raise awareness about bullying.

Visitors will find along the route special posters with awareness messages about this problem that affects schoolchildren. A helpline number has been included on these posters where affected families can ask for help if they need it.

To launch this awareness campaign, a collaboration agreement was signed this morning between Terra Natura Benidorm and AcoSOS. Thanks to this agreement, members of this association will have special rates if they want to participate in therapies with sea lions, as well as learn about the biodiversity of this nature and animal park.

The president of AcoSOS, José Vicente Escapa, said that the main objective of the organisation is “to prevent bullying, to raise awareness in society about the serious consequences it has and to facilitate the integration of children who have been victims of this problem”. In addition, AcoSOS actively collaborates with the authorities, educational centres, health professionals and the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the detection of symptoms and in the transmission of information when necessary.

The Commercial and Marketing Director of Terra Natura Benidorm, Javier Zapata, stressed that “through this agreement we want to make known the great work that this Alicante-based association carries out , in addition to  make our parks visible as a safe environment for young people and their families”.
